There’s plenty of ways to eat and drink your way around the Sydney Opera House during this year’s Vivid LIVE.
Watch the House light up from our pop-up bar, enjoy a special Vivid dining experience, take in a Vivid Sunset Tour or choose from a range of food trucks* under the sails from 5pm each night, offering festival-goers a variety of snacks and small plates to dine on after dark.
*Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.
Bar Subterranean
The creative visionaries behind Newtown’s The Midnight Special will triumphantly return to the Opera House as the Concert Hall Northern Foyer undergoes an electrifying transformation into Bar Subterranean. Inspired by the legendary Bob Dylan anthem, ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’, the immersive pop-up will serve cocktails curated by Archie Rose and is a must-visit along the Vivid Sydney journey.

Culinary Canvas
Gather in the iconic Yallamundi Rooms on the Northern Broadwalk of the Sydney Opera House for a celebration of women in Australian gastronomy and winemaking, curated by Danielle Alvarez. Take in dramatic views of Vivid Sydney and Sydney Harbour as you sample Danielle’s distinct culinary vision, the best paired wines from female winemakers curated by Louella Mathews and an intimate musical performance by renowned Australian artist Katie Noonan.
Vivid Dinner at the House
Experience the Opera House in a different light during Vivid Sydney. Step inside before the lights go on and the music starts on a tour that uncovers the legendary history and extraordinary secrets of the House. After the tour, you'll enter one of the House's hidden spaces to enjoy an exclusive three-course dining experience, with a light projection in a stunning architectural setting.
House Canteen
Taste, See, Connect at House Canteen. Watch the dazzling light displays and enjoy a delicious dining experience. Centered around communal dining, the set menu features a delightful assortment of sushi, shareable plates, dumplings, and desserts, all meant to be savoured together. The freedom to personalise drink choices is provided with QR codes on the table.
Sunset at the House
Experience the Opera House in a different light with a sunset tour during Vivid Sydney. Step inside as the sun goes down and discover the legendary history and extraordinary secrets of the House. Finish with a drink at the Vivid LIVE pop-up bar as you watch Sydney Harbour light up.
Aurorae at Bennelong Bar
Aurorae at Bennelong Bar is set to be the ultimate destination to experience the Opera House lighting of the sails from within, as you enjoy an iconic snack by Chef Gilmore paired with a bespoke cocktail, created exclusively in celebration of Vivid Sydney. Plus, on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday night, live music will be performed by an incredible line-up of Australia’s most talented jazz musicians. Reservations available. As always at the Bennelong Bar, walk-ins most welcome.
Through the Kaleidoscope at Opera Bar
Adorned by intricate frosted kaleidoscopes and lights, Opera Bar will offer three unique and colourful cocktails inspired by Vivid Sydney’s vibrant and colourful atmosphere. Enjoy the Vivid Sydney lights as you sip on your cocktail of choice and soak in the electric atmosphere.
Midden by Mark Olive
Midden by Mark Olive will deliver an unforgettable dining experience alongside the electrifying ambience of Vivid Sydney.
Amidst the illumination, dine on culinary delights like lemon myrtle teriyaki chicken and vegetable skewers, each infused with zesty lemon myrtle ponzu. Elevate your experience with the Rosella Gimlet, featuring Archie Rose’s rosella-infused signature dry gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon, agave and myrtle.
