Programming
Our in-house artistic producing team also known as Sydney Opera House Presents (SOHP) manages approximately 25% of the Opera House’s programming, covering a wide range of artistic genres and ensuring diverse representation. SOHP coordinates all event aspects, including ticketing, marketing, site management, and technical production.
Visitor Experience & Engagement
Visitor Experience & Engagement is known as the face of the Opera House – it’s our job to help people experience the Opera House both on site and online. We want people to know what’s on, how to get here and the stories behind the amazing performances on our stages.
Strategic Engagement
The Strategic Engagement portfolio oversees stakeholder interactions and manages special projects that enhance the Opera House’s value, including book publishing, events, and community engagement. It takes a strategic approach to support the organisation’s goals in equity and sustainability.
Infrastructure and Procurement
The members of the Infrastructure and Procurement portfolio ensure that the World Heritage-listed building is maintained every day, and renewed for future generations.
Corporate Services
This portfolio includes finance, payroll, and technology services essential for operational support and future readiness. Our private funding teams, also part of the portfolio, secure corporate partnerships and donations to enhance Opera House access, programming, and community connections.
People & Government
The People & Government team look after matters relating to the employment and wellbeing of our people, as well as heritage, government and corporate policies. We work hard to ensure all staff and stakeholders feel welcome and supported here, and understand our story.
Legal, Safety, Risk & Internal Audit
This portfolio has safety and risk at its core – with legal, enterprise risk, program and change management, internal audit and the safety teams all under the same umbrella. The Safety team also includes the Health Centre and run our year-round program of staff wellbeing initiatives.
Office of the CEO
The Office of the CEO oversees all operations and strategic priorities at the Opera House, coordinating between the Executive Team, Directors, and the Board of Trustees. It also manages communications with VIPs and handles protocol visits for dignitaries.
Production, Events & Security
The Production, Events and Security portfolio handles all behind-the-scenes aspects to ensure performances are spectacular and run smoothly, including lighting, staging, sound, and event operations. It also manages venue and event sales, recording and broadcasting, and security to ensure the safety and security of all patrons and staff.
