Ages 6 - 18 months | In this performance, a drop falls into the ocean, wondrous and free, a vast unknown ahead. The ocean is still, but teeming with life - the whale is calling, fishes are leaping and experiences are awaiting!

An immersive theatrical experience for bubs

Recommended for babies ages 6 - 18 months, this immersive theatrical experience explores the relationship between the ocean and its beings, its treacherous depth, and its mysterious magic. Baby audiences will experience music, sounds and movement as a way of storytelling, making sense of the imaginative world presented to them. First developed by Ian Loy, in collaboration with Ellison Tan, Myra Loke and Serene Tan (Stan) under Esplanade’s Theatre for Young Audiences Associate Artist programme, this WIP showcase is led by Ian Loy, in collaboration with Chew Shaw En, Ellison Tan, Myra Loke and Serene Tan (Stan).

Venue information

Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars.

All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.
