Fiery, filthy, and fabulous comedian and cabaret artist Reuben Kaye blends rapid-fire punchlines with full-throated torch songs

Taking over the Sydney Opera House with an 18-piece orchestra in his flashiest, funniest and most fearless endeavour yet, Reuben Kaye is bigger and better than ever (it’s in the title). We know because he made us write it down.

The fiery, filthy, and fabulous comedian and cabaret artist blends rapid-firepunchlines with full-throated torch songs in an extravagant spectacle. Kaye shares deeply personal (and hilarious) stories in between belting out diva-worthy anthems: there’s no material that’s off-limits for this sharp-tongued cabaret superstar.

A winner of multiple Best Cabaret Awards, Kaye is political, bawdy, and very queer; his voice is honey spritzed with cyanide. A full musical entourage has been enlisted for EnGORGed – including band, backing vocalists and mini orchestra–adding swelling strings and a throbbing rhythm section to his seductive vocals.

Event details

Kaye proves himself an entertainer from the extremities of his cheekbones to the tips of his toes here, his show a strident and sassy rallying cry for queer liberation.

the Guardian for Apocalipstick

His brand of hard-hitting political comedy holds no punches... He is unfiltered, lighting fast quick-witted, vocally majestic, always stylish, vulnerable, brutally honest, incredibly detailed and open with his personal stories, and has a set of stunning costumes as the glittery cherry on top.

Lilithia for Apocalipstick

It’s hard to know what tears are for him, yourself, your friends or simply because you’re laughing so much that you’re using your spare facemask to wipe away snot.
