New York Times best-seller Alison Roman joins Adam Liaw in a fun and lively conversation about food, friends, and why Roman’s no-fuss style strikes a chord.

A delicious offering best enjoyed in company

Following the release of her third book, Sweet Enough, New York-based cook and writer Alison Roman comes to the Concert Hall for one night only as part of her 2023 Australian Tour.

Roman brings an authentic style to the role food plays in our lives, creating recipes so iconic they have become known by definitive hashtags: #thecookies, #thepasta, #thedip. Capturing global attention through her New York Times bestselling cookbooks Nothing Fancy and Dining In, Substack’s most popular food newsletter titled A Newsletter, and her YouTube series Home Movies, Alison Roman is single-handedly encouraging a generation to ditch “domestic goddess” perfection and embrace a no fuss, no-nonsense approach to cooking for friends.

With her personality just as much a key ingredient in her food as any shallot or anchovy, Alison Roman promises to serve up a healthy side of pragmatism and carefree attitude live on-stage.

Alison Roman will also appear as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival and at Brisbane’s Powerhouse.

At her place, it’s nighttime, the plates don’t match, your phone’s on the table, and the candle’s burning down to a nub. Her high-spirited, offhand quality makes you feel that the most important element to any meal is gameness. If you could “throw your own hot dog party,” why wouldn’t you?
