Mapping Productions, A Diary of the Experience, Madame Bach 2023

Useful information:

Find your way in the world - and within yourself

In this delightful interactive performance for early years from Denmark, we meet a young girl on her quest to the bakery, who navigates alongside a turtle, through a forest of signs and follows the stars to guide us across the sea.

This journey of self-discovery unfolds as two performers tap into the power of children’s imagination. Using live music from strings, drums and an accordion, along with everyday objects, to tell a captivating story.

You Are Here makes young children feel they play a part in finding the characters way in the world by performing at their eye level, and encouraging participation. Through words, light, sound and images, discover all the different ways one can find their way.

After the performance children are invited to make their own stories of patterns, piles and rows of beach stones with images and letters from the show.

About Theatre Madam Bach

Theatre Madam Bach is an internationally renowned theatre group from Denmark for children founded in 1997.

They create visual theatre for children between ages 0 - 6. Through rich imagery, captivating soundscapes, and a poetic use of words, their theatre performances speak to the senses in a language where the child feels at home. Madam Bach’s shows often branch out in other formats too—music, illustrated books, workshops or art projects that promote creativity and curiosity, and encourage children to engage beyond the theatre experience itself.

Creative learning is an important part of their work and that is why Pernille and Christian have built up a brand new art space & knowledge base in Denmark for developing shows, art projects, artists-in-residencies and exploring Theatre for Early Years (TEY) with artists from all over the world.
