When Dad feels like a little bit of Sunday afternoon time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans! Join them as they pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag.

Bluey’s Big Play a theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award-winning children’s television series, with an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, and music by Bluey composer, Joff Bush.

Join the Heelers in their first live theatre show for students, featuring brilliantly crafted puppets. This is Bluey brought to real life! The performance puts big feelings (and paws!) front and centre, giving schools access to one of Australia’s most recognisable families in a live theatre setting.

Bluey’s Big Play supports learning in the Creative Arts, PDHPE and English through imaginative play, puppetry and set design storytelling through a uniquely Australian lens, as well as developing social and emotional wellbeing and interpersonal skills.

What to expect

Students will see:

  • Performers using hand manipulated puppets.
  • Paw-fectly timed physical comedy.
  • An iconic Australian landscape and house set design.
  • Dancing doggies on stage.

Subject areas: Creative Arts, English, Drama, Music, Dance, Visual Arts, PDHPE.

Cross curriculum priorities and general capabilities: Literacy, Creative and Critical Thinking, Personal and Social Capability, Intercultural Understanding.

Key themes: Imaginative play, puppetry and set design, storytelling, wellbeing, family relationships and friendships, character development and anthropomorphism, Australian popular culture, feelings of home and connectedness.
