The LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet gets its dance shoes on

The brilliant LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet were audience favourites when they performed in the Utzon Room in 2019. Now these five elite musicians from one of the world’s greatest orchestras are back at the Sydney Opera House with an entertaining, dance-infused program of music for wind quintet.

Hear the LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet perform treasures of the wind quintet repertoire including French master Jean Françaix’s extraordinarily light-footed first Wind Quintet, Australian composer Ross Edwards’ Incantations, inspired by the sounds of the Australian summer, American composer Valerie Coleman’s passionate and virtuosic showpiece Tzigane, selections from Leonard Bernstein’s iconic music for West Side Story and Norwegian composer Carl Nielsen’s delightful Wind Quintet, which captures the unique characters of all five instruments.

The LA Phil Wind Quintet is excited to reunite with our Australian audiences in Sydney and can’t wait to share a very special afternoon of beautiful music with you in the Utzon Room.
