Useful information:
Genre-bending French-via-Atlanta DJ, the undisputed Queen of Sydney rap and one of the hottest producers in Sydney
Hey Sydney, something special’s going down. The influential label Trackwork is turning five, and they’re taking over The Studio for one huge night. This is not just another event - it’s a full-on Trackwork takeover - think club night meets live show, meets dance party. Featuring international DJ sets from Paris and Rio de Janeiro alongside Australian innovators, this is a global-meets-local celebration of everything fresh in electronic, rap and baile funk music.
Brodinski
French producer and DJ - is back in Australia for the first time in 10 years. As one of the hottest names in global electronic music and a co-founder of the eclectic record label Bromance, his genre-bending fusions of hip-hop and electro have seen him headline leading clubs and festivals around the world, and led to high-profile remixes and collaborations with artists including Kanye West, Danny Brown, Justice, Tiga, Sébastien Tellier and Empire of the Sun.
Vv Pete
The SZA-cosigned rap artist on the verge of full-blown stardom –returns to VIVD live to officially premiere her debut album "Varvie World" alongside producer and Trackwork founder UTILITY. With her indelible fusion of precision hooks, ear-rattling club beats and global dance music, Sydney-based Sudanese rapper and singer Vv Pete is poised to become one of Australia’s breakout international stars. Drawing early comparisons to Missy Elliott, Ice Spice and Lizzo, her 2022 debut single Bussit blew up worldwide, entering rotation on legendary New York hip-hop radio station Hot 97. Teaming up with UTILITY for Jersey-influenced smash Jordan 1s and party-anthem Bacardi Papi, winning FBi Radio’s Song of the Year two years in a row and her captivating Vivid LIVE debut last year, Vv Pete returns for her biggest – and most anticipated – show to date.
UTILITY
The Sydney-based composer, producer and Trackwork label founder has been instrumental in fostering, touring and curating some of most exciting local and international talent, with collaborators including Kelman Duran (Beyoncé's Renaissance), Mall Grab, Logic1000, Formation Boyz (South Africa), and Clementaum (Brazil), Jesswar, Gino October, and Lil Jaye & Eco$ystem, DoloRRes and Cherry Chola. UTILITY serves as executive producer and creative director on Vv Pete’s VARVIE WORLD and curator for this incredible birthday party lineup.
Joining UTILITY on stage are local acts: emerging DJ and innovator - Mali; the young Brazilian DJ queen - Brina; cult classic Gamilaraay rappers and Trackwork Day 1-ers T Breezy and Walkerboy; and drum-heavy, experimental DJ and music legend -T.Morimoto.
Giroloco
In a historic moment, the Brazilian outfit brings energetic Baile Funk music to the Opera House for the first time. With booty-shaking sets by DJ Shavozo and Gabu, they will take out the night with a Rio street Favela party complete with umbrellas, flags and beats that will have you dancing for hours. This is a night not to be missed!
